Shannon Halgren, Ph.D.

Shannon Halgren has extensive experience in the area of software and hardware Human-Computer Interaction. She has held User Research or Interaction Design positions at Macromedia, Inc., Claris Corporation, GO Corporation, Lockheed Engineering & Sciences, Compaq Computer Corporation, and IBM. In her most recent full time position at Macromedia, she was a senior usability engineer responsible for incorporating usability into all phases of Macromedia products' and websites' development lifecycle. Shannon has presented her work at several CHI (Computer-Human Interaction) and UPA (Usability Professionals Association) conferences and in professional journals and books.

Shannon received her M.A. (1990) and Ph.D. (1993) in Experimental Psychology from Rice University in Houston, Texas. She specialized in Human-Computer Interaction.
